Colten Noakes has lived in Charlottesville, VA for nearly 25 years. A native of rural Vermont, he spent his childhood running naked through meadows and eating from the garden. That sort of thing is frowned upon in Charlottesville, at least it was in the 1980s. He still enjoys eating from gardens. After attending a myriad of public and private schools in the city, he spent a few years at higher education in upstate New York and Charlottesville finishing a BA in music.

He kept an online journal from 1997 until 2007. Archives may become available at some point - but if you were there you probably have your own memories anyway. He was in a band called All of Fifteen from 1999-2006.

He has released one small book (Six Months and a Thousand Ways), one full length record, a handful of EPs, and a 6 song solo disc - which he toured for in 2006. Most of these can be purchased either in physical or digital form at recordtheory.com. He is currently working on a new full length record.
